These little heirlooms are meant to be cherished and passed down with love.
They are composed carefully from treasured vintage + re-purposed textiles with their own stories, pasts and special memories. Tiny moments make up a lifetime and these caps are meant to capture a moment and turn it into a tangible keepsake for generations.
There is something really special about these pieces. Each uniquely it's own-no two identical.
Each cap comes complete with a dust bag for safe keeping for years of adventure and memories.
Another reason that these are personally so special, is that when Dainty Cheeks started on Etsy in 2010, the first thing that was ever sold was a hat. After the birth of my daughter, I had this overwhelming need to get back into creating. One day I decided to grab some of my old sweaters that I was going to donate, and instead give them new life.
The first order came in and I remember doing a happy dance and squealing with delight. I literally had no idea what I was doing, really... like, none. All I knew was that I wanted to get better and I had so many ideas that I needed to put into motion.
I often reflect on the beginning stages of Dainty Cheeks. It has grown and flourished in ways I would have never even imagined in the early days and it is such a large piece of who I am today.

I see these images now and chuckle a bit. I also feel a little tug at the heartstrings seeing my baby with her chubby cheeks. ;)
If there is something that you have been wanting to do, start now. Don't wait until the "right time." (To be honest, the seed of Dainty Cheeks was planted during one of the most difficult times of my life.) There is no perfect time. Just start! Allow yourself to figure it out as you go and get better. If you wait until you are ready, you will be waiting your life away.
